Find answers to common questions about NTS and table soccer in Nepal.
Table soccer, commonly known as foosball, is a competitive sport played on a specially designed table with rows of miniature players mounted on rotating bars. Players use the bars to kick a ball into the opposing goal. It is recognized by the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) and played competitively in over 80 countries worldwide.
To become an NTSA member, you need to apply for a Player License through our website or at any NTSA-affiliated venue. You will need a valid ID, two passport-size photos, and the annual registration fee of Rs. 500. Membership is open to all Nepali citizens aged 14 and above.
NTSA organizes several tournaments throughout the year including the National Championship, Regional Qualifiers, Inter-Club League, Youth Championship, and various open tournaments. We also facilitate participation in international events such as the ITSF World Cup and Asian Championships.
NTSA follows the official ITSF rules for all sanctioned tournaments. Key rules include: no spinning (rotating bars more than 360°), time limits on possession (10-15 seconds depending on the rod), and specific serve procedures. Full rulebooks are available on our website and at all affiliated venues.
NTSA has affiliated venues across Nepal, primarily in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. Visit our Venues page for a complete list of locations with professional tables, operating hours, and coaching availability. Most venues offer both casual play and structured training sessions.
NTSA uses a points-based ranking system similar to the ITSF international rankings. Players earn points based on tournament results, with higher-tier events offering more points. Rankings are updated monthly and determine seedings for national events and eligibility for international team selection.
Yes! NTSA welcomes volunteers for event organization, coaching, and community outreach. We offer coaching certification programs for those interested in teaching table soccer. Visit our Volunteer page to learn about current opportunities and how to get involved.
NTSA runs a Schools Program and Corporate Partnership initiative. Schools can request table soccer equipment and coaching visits, while businesses can sponsor events or host tables at their premises. Contact us at partnerships@ntsa.org.np for more information about collaboration opportunities.
