February 2018

Official Establishment

The Nepal Table Foosball Association (NTFA) was founded in Kathmandu, led by General Secretary Umesh Ghimire and Dr. Prakash Pradhan, with a vision to transform foosball from a recreational pastime into a recognized national sport.

February 2018

International Affiliation

Nepal achieved a significant global milestone by becoming an official Associate Member of the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF), connecting Nepali players to the global table soccer community.

April 2018

"Inclusive Sport" Initiative Launch

Marking the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the association held its first major seminar, "Table Soccer as Inclusive Sport," inviting educators to explore the game's power to engage children of all backgrounds.

March 2022

IB School Integration

Table soccer was formally introduced to the sports curriculum at Premier International IB World School, setting a benchmark for foosball as a developmental tool in Nepali elite education.

March 2023

Breaking Barriers at Navjyoti Centre

In a first-of-its-kind move in Nepal, the NTFA inaugurated a dedicated table foosball program for children with special needs at the Navjyoti Centre. The project focused on using the sport to improve neural coordination and reduce digital addiction.

June 2024

Global Ambassador Visit

ITSF World Ambassador Gonzalo Dos Santos (Portugal) visited Nepal to conduct workshops alongside Umesh Ghimire. This collaboration helped elevate local technical standards and increased visibility for the sport in Kathmandu's school circuits.

2026

Nepal Open International Tournament

The association successfully hosted the Excelsior Nepal Open International Table Soccer Tournament - a landmark event sanctioned as an ITSF 250 World Tour category, attracting both local and international competitive talent.

Today

A Growing National Movement

The association continues to expand its nationwide network, collaborating with sports hubs like H2O Club and London Pub, and preparing Nepali athletes for future ITSF World Cup participation.
